Child melt down....

Matilde is approaching 2 and with that - the terrible twos..... :S

In below pic, she was so mad it was impossible to even lift her up, and she feel asleep under the bed from all the screaming.... I had to pull her out... must admit it sometimes is hard not to laugh :-)

Brunch Sunday

Brunch Sunday, great way to recover from a loooong race, or a looooong evening at the Swedish Spring Ball :-)

As always when dining with the kids, it is not that relaxing and a lot of running around pleasing the little ones. Still, it was really nice, and the place (La Villa in River Valley) was very good for Family Brunch, due to a Bouncy Castle, a playground and a kids section in the restaurang!

Instead of paying the bill, we let the kids assist in the kitchen.... ;-)

Sundown Marathon

WE DID IT!!!

I signed us up already in January to Morten's B-day, as seems as a great idea at the time. Didn't really feel that great a week before the race, especially as Morten was in Greece on business and didn't get back until 5pm on the day of the race... and me no time to practice, being completely exhausted after work (don't remember it was that exhausting to work at previous jobs...), and prioritize the kids before running...

Anyhow, Morten got home on time, we loaded up carbs on pasta and meatballs - and took off together neighbour and friend Greg. Just getting to the meet-up place with another 17,000 runners was a great feeling and even if it was midnight, I wasn't even tired :-)

Great race, the first 10-k was actually fun, and first at 18-k, my legs wanted to stop. Then it's good to have a brain saying the opposite :-)

Next race?!? Well, I'm quite confident it won't a full marathon but there is a race in Nov, 'Great Eastern Women Race', that I really wanna do (5-k, 10-k, 21-k & 42-k options) - so any ladies out there that wants to join me, let me know lah!!

Danish Church Bazaar

The Danish Church had a bazaar today with Danish brands showing/selling their products. Me, the kids, and Nady went there in the morning. For me, focus was the Danish lunch :-) Kids were more excited over a jumping castle, and a stand selling toys... Hannah chose a drill (no comments) and Matilde a princess Bobby Car.

Matilde sick :(

Matilde have had high fever for 4 days and y-day when I came home from work, it was almost 40 degrees and her eye was swollen, and decided to go to the emergency room... Stupid mummy not thinking straight and brought Hannah and Nady, and got stuck in traffic, and both kids feel asleep in the car... hence, Nady and Hannah stayed in the car while Matilde and I went in.

Great service at Raffles, came in to see the doctor right away, but the doctor was very concerned re the high fever and wanted to keep her over night for observation. I refused as they didn't have a pediatrican on call, so decided to go to KK instead (Children Hospital with plenty of pediatricans!)

Hannah and Nady taken home, packing a bag for Matilde and I in case of the same diagnosis at KK...

Very different service at KK - the place was full with waiting parents and kids, so in total, we spent 5 hrs there, wonderful... managed to keep Matilde occupied with iPhone, blackberry, books, picture of auntie Johanna ('moster joooanna')...

After seeing 3 different people, where the doctor was 25 yrs old and only worked for 3 years (I had to ask if he really was the doctor), we could go home with 4 bottles of fever reduction medicine, caugh medicine, runny nose medicine, antibiotics, eye drops.... starting to feel like a pharmacy at home...

Lesson learned from this:
  • Don't bring sister along....
  • Don't go to KK...
Matilde is feeling better today, the fever has gone down to reasonable level, and she has been playing all day :-)

Chocolate Balls

When I was little, we got to bake 'chocolate balls' a lot as it was super simple; no yiest, no owen...

If they are healthy, not really, the base is margarine, but they were fun to make and the kids forgot about them since they are supposed to be in the frigde for a while - so good for me :-)

Doing what we do the best...

Today, the Dahlstroms came over and assisted in the 'relaxing' activities; coffee, lunch, dessert, more coffee, play in the house, more coffee... and Kexchoklad!! Tonight, Morten is off to Greece... :S

First biz trip with Schenker

3 weeks into the job and off we go on the first biz trip - 3 days in Shanghai followed by 2 in Hong Kong.

Amazingly, my previous Maersk/Damco colleague Lars Tylen was spending a few days in SH at the same time, hence first night in the city contained of dinner and drinks with him and Annelie, who likes in SH. She was of course the guide for Lars and me, and we had dinner at a Asian fusion style restaurang, excellent! Sightseeing at the Bund and drinks at a nearby place overlooking the Bund.

:-)
Next stop Hong Kong - felt like being back home!!
I stayed at the Kowloon Side close to my old office at H&M, really nice to be back in the neighborhood :)

Most of the time was work of course but managed to catch up with some friends; Ashley for a drink at a super-local bar. We got the balcony next to the water for ourselves, great... except when the police was coming by with their superloud boats... oh well :-)  Asa and I managed to squeeze in time for dinner together, sooo nice to see eachother again :-)

View from Schenker's HK office

Lunch with my new colleagues, love dim sum!!

Ashley choosed the place for drinks, can't get much closer to the water...! :)

Asa & my 'hangout' - Zuma!

The Royce Gang :-)

Friday morning, 'the Royce Gang', a.k.a. some Swedish kids with their helpers, get together at 'Royce' to play and have lunch together. Today, it was Alicia, Sebastian & Matilde.

Apparently, the tent was the top attraction of today :)
Second place came the kitchen area!

Just a regular Thursday...

Starting to get into the routines of being a working mum again, with rushing home from the office to get some quality time with my babies... Today, we had a late-evening swim followed by surprising daddy in the lobby :-) Normally, or before I got back to work, the girls didn't mind Nady to help them out with various things when I was around, but now, that's a totally different story - I'm the ONLY one that qualify for helping for the moment being... and I guess it is not that strange after all.... :S

LOOOOOVE playing in the pool :-)

Where is daddio!?! :)
Can't get a better welcome!!

Sharing daddy's music :-)

Nady continues to document what the girls and her are doing during the day. Today, waterfun in 112 Katong Mall was on the agenda, followed by playdate at home and in the park.

112 Katong Mall - excellent water fun!!
Love you sister <3

Hannah loves writing letters - but calls them
numbers... oh well
Hannah's friend from Hong Kong, Olivia, moved
to Singapore the past weekend and today,
they had their first playdate for a looong time!!
According to Nady and Alma (Oli's helper), the girls
had a great time :-)

Picnic - everything going great as long as Matilde is playing
by Hannah's rules...hm... :-)
