Trick or Treat

Our entire Condo was in a Halloween mood today and it was great fun seeing all dress up kids and the excitement doing their 'trick or treat'.

Both the girls were over the moon of excitement and talked about scary witches and pumpkins and of course - candy :-)

They got to choose one piece each (am I to strict?!?) and rest is saved for approx 100 Saturdays onwards... Yes, it was a LOT of candy...

Leg warmers...

Fanny dress party at school today and Matilde picks leg warmers. No matter what i said, fancy dresses i suggested, it was all about the leg warmers...

X-mas starts early in the tropics...

...maybe To ensure the Singapore residents will get a tiny bit of Xmas feeling despite a constant 33 degrees, bright sun, flip flops and not a snowflake in sight...

Bday party and sick Hannah...

Two adorable babies turning one and bday party was on the agenda for today. The kids have talked about the party for a week, and when we arrive, Hannah starts complaining about her forehead hurting... 1 Hr later, she is boilingly hot so Morten takes her home and she sleeps for 4 hrs, My poor baby :(

The planned Halloween playdate for the afternoon was obviously a no-go and the rest of the weekend Will be very Low key... Might be good ad Morten is of To DK for a week followed by Dubai To speak at a bunker conference...

The party was great (tack Sofie & Paul!!), and Matilde enjoyed playing With all the other kiddos. And mummies/daddies enjoyed some quiet time by the pool side :-)

Hong Kong friends in Singapore :-)

Finally we have a weekend With entire family in Singapore!! Saturday was all about sports With Morten playing a Danish tournament, Hannah Shaws Little League AND a Swim test (similar To Swedish baddare/grodor märkena).

Sunday - Sofie, Julian, Lucas & Ella play-at-Sentosa-With-lunch-in-the-rain morning :-) SUPER nice To see eachother again, last time was when we lived in HK!! Hopefully it Wont take another 1.5 yr til next time :-)

New Delhi

Three days biz trip to Delhi, 2 nights in a hotel and 2 nights in the air - for the latter, I'm getting closer to perfecting efficient sleeping on a short flight: 1 sleeping pill prior boarding, ear plugs and eye cover. Result: only 10 min awake time b/w Singapore and Delhi :-)

Had a great dinner with some old friends first evening at the 'Kebab Factory' at SAS Radison. Highly recommended if you're in the area! When we were about the explode of all the food, the waiter informed us it now was time for the main course... Note for future: starters are most likely more than enough :-)

Rest of the trip was work, work and work With one Hr sightseeing/shopping on the way to the airport!

Happy Birthday Hannah 4 yrs old

Time flies and our little baby girl is now 4 years old, crazy but true!! Such was celebrated for an entire weekend, even though we planned on only having the party on her actual birthday Oct 13th. Morten unfortunately had to fly off to DK for the weekend, so we simply 'moved' her bday to the 12th - no harm as long as you don't know the dates :-)

The birthday party for her closest friends was held at her actual bday and she wanted to have a pool party (of course as her favorite thing to do is swimming) and a pinjada - great fun and the activities took a great deal of the 2 hr party. The adult managed to sit down for about 20 min for coffee/wine so all good :-) 

Last year, the kids were only from Sweden and Denmark. This year, it was kids from India, Australia, Canada, UK, Sweden, US, Check Republic, Denmark - so a much better mix to truly represent the community we live in! 

Sunday was no real celebrations but dedicated for Skype with Swedish and Danish family :-)

THANKS for everyone helping out celebrating our little 4 year old who has been falling asleep with a smile on her face after such a wonderful weekend!!

Great Eastern Women Marathon

In may after running Sun Down half-marathon, I thought it would be a great idea to run another half-marathon later same year as having 6 months to practice - piece of cake!  I'm currently down to 4 weeks before race day, and it's not really the same feeling... what.was.I.thinking?!? SERIOUSLY??????

On the road for 5 weeks with very limited running options, and no real structured running practice prior to such, I simply have no choice but getting myself out running after kids bedtime...

Today, I concluded it has nothing to do with the legs, it's all in my head, will-power!! Falling asleep next to the girls while reading to them, I came up with million of excuses why I couldn't run today when Hannah woke me up... all were quite lame so had no choice but getting my running shoes on and out I went. (It helped having Nady laughing at me :-)  )

First 5-ks went ok but my head kept telling me "it's enough for tonight, go home and watch an episode of 'Swedish Hollywood wifes' instead", but also that is a VERY bad excuse to run back home, as that show must be one of the most stupid shows ever produced...!

Last 5-ks went quite fast due to two reasons:

1. Singapore military had an exercise session in the park so I had to do my very best to keep up :-)
2. I was preparing PPT in my head for a project at work... :)

4 weeks to go, two 10 km sessions down... the race is 21 km so I guess I should soon start increasing the distance I'm running, huh.... :S

Cinnamon Buns

In Sweden, it is the day of the cinnamon bun and our sweet Nady baked for us :-)

Very pleased to find out, as wanted to have cinnamon buns for the weekend but really didnt want to spend several hrs making them after 10 days on the road.... Hurray for Nady!!! :-)

Happy Mid Autumn Festival

Lantern making at home was very exciting - and the materials used were mostly recycled items... Sounds very good but mostly because no time to buy any fancy crafts :-)

Morten got them some fancy lanterns as well to show what they were 'supposed' to look like :-)
