Fettis dagen - Fat Tuesday
Today is 'fettis dagen' and all of Sweden endulge in 'semlor' (cardamon buns with marsipan and whipped cream) I had in a bright moment a plan to bake at home, but since i rarely succeed in using the dry yeast available in Singapore (or Any dry yeast for that matter...), we were grateful to be invited to a friend's 'semle' party - and the 'semlor' were superb!!!
After the Swedish tradition, which Hannah & Matilde weren't overly impressed about, they wanted Singapore food and we went to a halker stall to get chicken rice :-)

Xmas celebration 2015
After around 15 years abroad, we are used to celebrate Xmas outside Scandinavia, and have built up our own traditions. Santa always visits us on Dec 24th, different 'Santas' every year, and this year he had a British Accent :-)
Last two years, we have had a Danish style Xmas, with some Japanese and Swedish touch.
Most appreciated gift this year…. think Hannah takes the price with her very moderate alarm clock :-)

Happy Diwali
Diwali is approaching (Nov 10-11th) and both girls had celebration in school today. Performances, henna, rangoli, various yummy food stalls - very excited girls!
Diwali is an Hindu festival of light, and one of the largest and brightest celebrations in India. Can compare it with Xmas and Chinese New Year, in my humble opinion.
