Swedish Midsummer celebration

Swedish Midsummer celebration this year was at the Swedish church here in Singapore (Morten started Saturday, after a dinner/KTV event arranged by good friend Markus Dahlstrom).

The midsummer celebration was exactly by the tradition book: lunch with loads of various herrings/potatoes/etc/etc, dance around the midsummer pole, strawberry cake, games - and sealing it with a dip in the pool and a family service.

Had a great afternoon, but wow was it steamingly hot!!!

No, it was definitely not a piece of cake to get them to wear the flowers, after mummy spending 2 hrs to finish them.... Tried everything and NOTHING worked, until Hannah finally realized flowers are what you wear at Midsummer and she put it on :-)

The mums were very active and haven't our young ones learned how important it is to win...hm...they know it now.... :-)

When the kids were fed, done playing, and getting tired, Nady took the youngest ones home to watch 'Pippi Longstocking' on the floor, while the adults finally could enjoy the BBQ!

Our little Matilde is not so little anymore - 23 months old!!!

Paige 3 years old!!

Landed in Singapore at 11am and off to B-day party to Paige, meeting my family there. Great to see them after a week - and of course to be at a B-day party Sat morning :)

The kids were thrilled over the Dora party, and Michelle had arranged an excellent party - you go working girl ;-)

It's tiring being at B-day parties...! :-)

Happy B-day Lea 4 yrs old!!

Hannah's dear friend Lea turns 4 yrs old and of course that means big princess party with face paintings, jumping castle, cake, balloons and wine to the adults :-)

All the kids had a blast, and were very easy to put to bed in the evening, after the suger rush had disappeared!!

Sentosa playdate & Church service

Woke up uncle Anders today with muffins and jumping in the bed (that latter goes for Hannah & Matilde!) at 10am. Excuse for sleeping in - Denmark won against Holland, yiehoooo!!! Hence a very valid excuse! :)

After playing with Anna & baby Karen, we were off to the pool for some play & lunch. Well on the way home, it took less than 2 min before the girls were asleep :-)

The afternoon was spent at the Swedish/Norwegian Church with a family service followed by BBQ!!

Sebastian 2 years old :-)

Matilde's friends are starting to turn 2 and first out party for Matilde is Sebastian :-)
Matilde was very excited, and top of the party was the cake (amazing creation Charlotte!!) and the goodie bags, according to my little lady. For mummy, it was without a doubt to see my friends from the mummy group!!

Family apart in 3 countries... :S

This week, our family has been all over the place.... I've been in Hong Kong 4 days for work, Morten in DK working / building a guest house for our summer guests :-) and the kids have been in Singapore with Nady, dear friends and Hannah's Godfather Anders (Thanks all sweet Singapore friends who have been playing with our babies and sending the worried mummy mms!!)

Morten left for Denmark and me and the girls have been busy socializing in Singapore :-)

Saturday was spent with the Whelans / Haglands by the pool and at the Hagland's home. Relaxing day, the kids were happy / exhausted and fell asleep in 2 sec, yiehoo for the mummy :-)

Sunday continued with hanging with the Whelans, first having coffee at Loysel Toy Cafe, followed by art supply shopping... maybe the latter wasn't the smartest as Matilde was exhausted but I guess I'm not always making the best decisions...especially not after promising the older sister... hm....

Maya's B-day Party

Hannah's school mate Maya turns 3 and that means big B-day party :-)
Hannah & Matilde spend a lot of time with Maya, as we live in the same condo, so both of the girls were invited, and were very excited, to say the least!!

According to Hannah, the highlight of the party was 'Diego' (Dora the Explorer) and his games, Matilde without a doubt was the butterfly 'tattoo' she got!
