Hannah & Conrad at the Zoo

Hannah & Conrad (Danish friend from school, who's parents are our friends from Hong Kong) had a playdate at the Zoo today! Great place to stroll around, beautiful surroundings, exciting animals, and of course excellent company by the kids and Conrad's mom Anne! :-)

The kids enjoyed the afternoon, where Hannah's every other comment was "-where are the giraffes, I wanna feed them..." ... and when we finally reached the giraffes as the last sight, the feeding time was over...hm... guess mummy needs to ensure feeding of the giraffes gets top priority at next Zoo excursion...!

Conrad ensure we are going in the right direction among the monkeys & white tigers...

The kangaroos where very interesting but not nearly as interesting as the
sink by the kangaroo fence... ;-)

The Sealion Show was good but whether the ice cream was a bigger hit?!? ...well,
what do you think!! :-)

China Town with Sofie

Sofie & I explored China town today. First time for me, hence excited to find a new place that reminds me about da Honkers and China. Yet though, gotta say it was China 101.... but again, better than nothing and great to practise my Mandarin again :-)

Swedish Church children's group

Playgroup at the Swedish Church today. I normally take the bus there with a jumping Matilde for 20 min.... but today, to my and my fellow bus riders' pleasure, Matilde decided to sleep through the entire ride! Well at the church, she woke up as she heard other children...of course... :-)

Cute dogs visit!

Niclas, a friend from Honolulu, came by with his adoreable dogs!! Or, it wasn't his dogs, he currently works as a dog sitter ;-) when not running http://www.hotelagent.org/  (check it out, it is really good for frequent travellers!!)

Hannah & Matilde were first rather reserved to these rather loud and jumping creatures, but got braver and braver by the minute!

Matilde's first date ;-)

Matilde has meet a new friend, Evo, who is born on exactly the same day as her :-)

During the playdate, Matilde and Evo slept for an hour each, so lots of time for their mummies to enjoy coffee, perfect!

I met Evo's mom Ceri (who is from the UK) at Hannah's school, where her daughter goes as well.

AM playgroup with Matilde, PM shopping with Hannah

It's Monday and Swedish mummy group and today, Ulrika at Sentosa Island was the hostess. Was great to come out to Sentosa, haven't been there since Feb 2006 where Morten and I had our first date!!
Anyway, nice to see the mummies and babies again!

Matilde fell asleep in the car home and while she was sleeping, Hannah and I took off to Vivo City for some shopping. First stop: to get a helmet to Hannah. She was VERY excited about this and wore it on the bus home.... so if people weren't starring before.... :-)

Fika time!!!
Goof balls :-)

'Discussing' whether to ride or not... only for 20 min, wow can my oldest negotiate...!!!

On the bus going home... better safe than sorry huh?! ;-)

Pool time with the Dahlstroms :-)

Sunday morning at the Dahlstroms pool, nice!! Last experience at that pool was Friday, where it was pouring down, hence a remarkable improvement today :-)

Our girls are in the same age, which for obvious reasons makes the success-ratio of a playdate higher!

Hannah & Lea had a great time 'painting' on the walls and floor with water,
which Lea's grandma introduced. Very creative and definitely a hit!!

Daddys & daughters...

Matilde has finally gotten floaties of her own and is starting to learn how to use them...

Nellie & Lea sleeping peacefully by the pool (wow, I was jealous ;)
while Hannah & Matilde didn't show one sign of tiredness...
Matilde fell asleep as soon as we got into the taxi though and slept of 2!! hrs.

Singapore Zoo!!!

Wow, what a great Zoo Singapore has!!! Not to many people, reasonable walking distance and you are quite close to the animals. It was not a 'plastic-fantastic' amusement park similar to Ocean Park in Hong Kong, instead it was obvious a lot of thought was put behind the park and we were very impressed! (Thank you thank you thank you our dear friends in Hong Kong who treated us to an annual pass, we will for sure be frequent visitors of the Zoo!!)

The favorites of the day: feeding the giraffes, horseback riding, the monkeys and the waterpark. Maybe also getting ice cream..... :-)

Sofia, Eva & Hannah

Sofia & Matilde were the brave girls feeding the giraffes

Quality time with Matilde

Now when Hannah has school every morning between 8:30 - 12:30, I get a lot of time with Matilde. Currently, she loooooves the pool & dressing up in Hannah's hats & glasses, so we can easily kill a few hourse with such :-)

Champagne playdate :-)

Friday afternoon playdate at the Dahlstrom's pool with homemade cinnamon buns - what a great way to start a weekend!! Well, we arrived a little early so Hannah, Matilde & I jumped into the pool and 5 min after, heaven basically opened up and the rain poured down... It got rather cold so we stayed in the water as it was warmer, and I optimistic Sara thought the rain would stop any minute... after 15 min, we gave up and went home to Ketti, Lea & Nellie. Smart idea as the playdate had moved inside for obvious reasons...!

The playdate was definitely not ruined by the rain! Lots of homemade sweets and best of all - Moet - were served and again, the optimal way of starting a weekend, thanks Ketti! :-)

Sisters...

Hannah & Matilde watching CBeebies... or Matilde watching for 30 sec and then starts to annoy Hannah, guess that's love in the name of sisterhood?!! :-)

I guess Matilde is having to many ants in her pants to calmly sit down for a TV show....!

Swedish Church with Matilde, playdate at home

While Hannah now is having school all morning, Matilde and I get to spend a lot of quality together. Today, we took the bus to the Swedish Church for 'Kyrkans barntimmar'. No problems to take the bus as it was a direct line. Only issue, the church is up on a hill off the mainroad, and OMG that is a steep hill!! Guess that was good for the rear end of me though... :-)

After the church, we had a playdate at home and by the pool with Ida & Ingrid (who are neighbors) and Rikke and her kids Sarah & Benjamin.

Hannah's first day in Eton House School

Hannah posing in her various school uniforms....

First day however, we decided to go in regular clothes...

Hannah was not super excited having her parents leave her at school but after some comforting hugs from Ms. Miranda, she had a great time (thank Godness!) and was a sunshine when I picked her up 4 hrs later. On the way home, she declared that tomorrow, she wants to go back and will NOT cry when mummy leaves! That's my girl :-)

Matilde finding out the joy of spinning round and round... :-)

Matilde in Hannah's ballerina skirt, and with such a skirt on,
of course you gotta spin around!!

Singapore Art Museum

Sunday was our cultural day and we met up with some friends at Singapore Art Museum for a Children's Expedition, followed by lunch. I was really impressed by the setup, it was interactive artistic games, suitable even for Matilde. So great job to the Museum!! :-)

Relaxing Saturday afternoon

After a playdate with Hannah's friend Naomi and parents Sofie & Paul, Hannah took a very needed nap.... and the rest of the family went shopping for plants and dinner. Matilde enjoyed her parents full attention and was very well-behaved, until she had to sit still in her stroller in the grocery store... not so much a well-behaved Matilde at that point....

Well home, the sisters enjoyed eachother's company, where Hannah build Lego figures and Matilde destroyed them... :-)

Matilde mastering the whistle :-)

Practise makes perfect ;-)

Swedish mummy group - play date

Hannah has started to ask for play dates and Matilde's arms start to wave of excitement as soon as she sees other kids. Thank Godness we have the Swedish mummy group to meet up with a few times a week!

Right before we entered the home of Gunilla and Theo, the hosts of today, Hannah asked which language she was to speak, and when I told her Swedish, she grew a few cm and got a big smile on her face :-)
