National Holiday by the pool

Relaxing with the Whelans, loads of fruits and cinnamon buns by the pool - perfect day!
Can now justify doing absolutely nothing for rest of the afternoon :-)

Driving license

In Singapore, you can legally drive on a foreign driving license for one year. In 3 days, we have been living here for exactly a year and today, we had our written test and yiehoo - passed :-)

This is my forth driving license and wow, is it different qualifications in the countries I have obtained licenses in.... Sweden, USA, Hong Kong, Singapore... In HK, it was simply to apply for a license, after showing my Swedish license. Singapore, a written test was required, and in the US, it was enough to do a driving test, which was driving around the block and park at a HUGE and emply parking lot....

Anyhow, super-happy I took the test, passed, and will in three days continue to legally drive in Singapore :-)

Weekend after first week of work :-)

Wow have I been exhausted this weekend - and I seriously didn't have a lot to do first week of work... maybe the rather dramatic change from running after kids all day, having limited chances to sit down, compared to sit almost all day, with only excersice being for the fingers on the keyboard... hm...

Anyhow, had a nice weekend with loads of relaxing family time. Managed to get to the zoo Sunday morning and had a pizza-by-the-pool get-together Sat evening with Kasper, Tine, Jonathan & Daniel.

Morten and I, which I never thought would happen, went for a 10-k run to seal the weekend - good for us! And we sealed it again once home - with Ben & Jerrys - even better for us :-)

Later on, the kids were playing some ball game by our condo, where I also got pics, wonderful :-)

Full day BBQ - what a great preparation for first day of work tomorrow :-)

The Dahlstroms, the Haugens & the Kalles went all in with our BBQ today! A very active day, as it tends to get with 5 kids under the age of 4...!, great BBQ food, dessert, wine, nice friends... and exhausted kids who went to bed without complains - wonderful lah :-)

ONE°15 Marina Club Sentosa Cove

The Whelans & The Kalles relaxing with hubbies and kiddos and grand parents by the pool, great Saturday activity! When the afternoon rain came, we had 'fika' with Hannah's Godfather Anders, which turned into evening and pizza dinner :-)

East Coast Ladies Girls Night Out

Once a month, the East Coast Ladies have a night out, without hubbies and children. Last night, Michelle organized the event with the theme "Sara and Michelle's - Back to Work Kick Off! + Archana's Birthday Cheers!

Sara and Michelle are trading in shorts and tank tops for suits and heels and are on our way back to work. Please join us for our last Girls Night Out as 'Stay at Home Mummies'. BTW, Tuesday is Archana's Birthday, just another reason to celebrate!"

Great arrangement, really nice to see the ladies again, and can't wait until next event!

Date night - it doesn't get more fancy...!

Finally, no plans in either of Morten's and my schedule and we get a night out - and what's on the agenda??? Hot dogs & popcorn at the closest cinema!! The selection of movie for the night was excellent and right what I needed - a good laugh at 'American Pie Reunion' :-)

Annelie visiting Singapore

Annelie flew down from Shanghai for Easter Holiday, great to see eachother again!! The kids got close to here quickly, and funnily enough, Matilde called her Cecilia (my brother's girlfriend) throughout the stay :-)

Lots of kids time, for obvious reasons, where we located two good restaurangs that were kids friendly:

Zaffron Kitchen - they have a playarea right next to your table, couldn't have been better!! Plus quick service and they even attended to your children.

South Coast - perfect brunch place where kids can run around under the palmtrees. View of the LV store by Marina Bay Sands. Will definitely go back!

Plenty of time by the pool (by the end of Easter, Hannah swam 50 m!), Easter lunch with the Whelans, Marina Bay Sands sightseeing, shopping, relaxing at home.... but we got Sunday night out when Morten was back home from the Viking Cup. Did a real sightseeing tour with Singapore Sling at Raffles, bike taxi to Arab street with delicious Arabic food! Great evening and very different from previous ones, which contained Swedish bulk candy and 'Solsidan' :-)

My oldest is swimming :-)

The day started with an attempt to visit the zoo but once there, the temperature was over 35 degrees and the queue was not of this world, hence we left for the pool at our condo. Good choice as Matilde needed a nap, the kids were all grumpy of a suger low, and were super excited to jump in the pool.

Hannah started to swim yesterday. Just out of the blue, she joined friend Naomi running and jumping into the deep pool and swam back to the side... just like that... and when she saw I looked at her, her face glow of join and she declared "mummy I'm floating, I dont sink, I dont drown and the pool is deep!"

If Matilde wanted to wear her floaties after seeing Hannah jumping about without hers? No way!! Issue here - she has no clue how to swim but still threws herself into the pool shouting "Tilde swimming"... :-)

Skarhamn with grandma & great grandma

2.5 weeks in Sweden and most of it in Skarhamn with my mom and grandma next door. We were lucky the weather was quite warm and sunny, and we spent a lot of time outside - and when not, ICA Nordevik's kids corner, Sundahallen and Skarhamn's Library were on the agenda.

Wonderful stay with family, felt very relaxing being 'home' and getting the chance to see family and friends!

Happy Easter

Easter 2012 started with Easter lunch / play / dinner at the Whelans. Annlie is here visiting from Shanghai, so it was her, myself and the girls, Sofie and her 3 kids - and no helpers...  but we managed to eat twice, bathe the kiddos, egg hunt, Easter crafts, pool, champagne... so very proud of ourselves ;-)

Kids asleep despite jetlag (wonder whether I'll be sitting playing with them in a few hours :S) and Annelie & I enjoying sparkling wine (which we couldn't get open, thank Godness for nice neighbours...!) Swedish gossip magz and best of all - Swedish bulk candy!!!!! :-)
